CDS Life Transitions Applications Administrator in Webster, New York

Summary:

The Applications Administrator will be responsible for day to day operation of assigned system(s). The Applications Administrator responds to service issues, performs routine maintenance and assists business units with application needs. This includes working collaboratively to configure and support critical business applications as well as troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Following ITIL best practices, provides support for issues relating to assigned application(s)

  • Continually monitors, evaluates and configures/re-configures applications to ensure optimal processing (utilizing change management/ticket control processes where appropriate)

  • Acts as liaison between business and application vendors; participates in weekly/monthly calls

  • Assists with business unit application needs as assigned: Report running, exporting and importing.

  • Work with colleagues and users/customers to provide professional, courteous, and timely support and service as needed.

  • Maintain technical and process documentation as needed.

  • Collaborate with IT department, staff, vendors, and other agencies to design and implement solutions.

  • Analyze complex business situations in order to recommend and implement technical solutions.

  • Participate in server and security audits, system backup procedures, and recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.

  • Work independently to maintain knowledge and skills and remain current with technology.

  • Performs other duties as required by supervisor.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining and administering complex applications

  • Excellent problem solving/analytical skills including a knowledge of analytical tools

  • Demonstrated soft skills including presentation of ideas and the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts

  • Ability to effectively engage with technical and nontechnical staff at all organization levels

  • Experience working in environment with PHI, PII or other sensitive information.

  • Must be able to multi-task, establish priorities, and meet deadlines, as well as work in a collaborative environment.

  • Ability to lead others in implementation efforts and technology related projects.

  • Self-starter who can learn and understand new technology quickly and independently.

  • Strong communication and writing skills.

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three or more years experience administering applications

  • ITIL certification preferred, but not necessary.

  • Proven experience executing enterprise solutions.

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit continuously.

  • Ability to reach above shoulder level.

  • Ability to turn/twist upper body.

  • Ability to use hand for repetitive action and fine manipulating for the purpose of keyboarding.

    The listed salary range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
