JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Communication Arts and Sciences of The Pennsylvania State University (https://psu.edu/) invites applications for full-time positions as a member of the teaching faculty. The start date for these positions is August 2024.

We seek full-time teaching faculty to teach undergraduate courses in Communication Arts and Sciences, principally in CAS 100 (Effective Speech) but also, as the need arises, in undergraduate communication science, rhetoric, visual communication, interpersonal, and collegiate debate courses.

Appointment would be at the appropriate faculty rank of Lecturer, Assistant Teaching Professor, or Associate Teaching Professor. These are non-tenure-track, term appointments with the possibility of reappointment. Rank and length of term will be determined based on education and experience.

A Master’s degree in communication studies or related field is required for a Lecturer, and a PhD in communication studies or related field for higher ranks, by the appointment date.

Successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.
