Humana Manager, Care Management in Richmond, Virginia

The Manager, Care Management (Behavioral Health) leads teams of nurses and behavior health professionals responsible for care management. The Manager, Care Management works within specific guidelines and procedures; applies advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems; receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines approach, resources, schedules, and goals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the assessment and evaluation of members' behavioral health needs and requirements to achieve and/or maintain an optimal wellness state by guiding members/families toward and facilitate interaction with resources appropriate for the care and well-being of members.

  • Makes decisions related to resources, approach, and tactical operations for projects and initiatives involving own departmental area and requires cross departmental collaboration

  • Conducts briefings, and area meetings, maintains frequent contact with other managers across the department.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, or Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (LCSW, LPC, LCP)

  • 3+ years of professional experience in Care Management, specifically in the delivery of care for the behavioral health needs and/or addiction and recovery treatment services of adult and/or adolescent members in Medicaid and/or Medicare

  • 2+ years of management or supervisory experience.

  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data trends.

  • Progressive business consulting and/or operational leadership experience.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Must reside in the commonwealth of Virginia.

  • Must be able to travel in the commonwealth of Virginia to provider offices and Humana locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a managed care field.

  • Previous experience in a field based or a homecare-based role.

Additional Information

This is a remote position in Virginia. May need to go into Humana office located in Glen Allen, VA .

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$84,600 - $116,300 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
