Provides oversight for projects and/or segments of large programs for various lines of business. Heads the engineering function and is accountable for development, integration and delivery of the data management platforms within the Enterprise Data and Analytics division.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for development and maintenance of the in-scope data platforms and tools, for safe and deliberate consumption throughout the organization.

  • Partners with the cyber security and infrastructure teams to implement proper security and risk related controls and frameworks across the in-scope platforms.

  • Manages multiple agile teams comprising of globally distributed full time and contract resources.

  • Partner with production support teams to increase automation and monitoring, simplify data operations, increase resiliency.

  • Provides engineering subject matter expertise to stakeholders, business units and delivery teams.

  • Partners with business leaders in understanding IT processes and restrictions.

  • Monitors progress of the team relative to established objectives and priorities. Manages performance and provides coaching as needed. Ensures that projects are delivered according to Enterprise Technology policies and procedures.

  • Organizes, plans, and manages projects. Partners with others within technology and the business on the execution of delivery projects from conception through implementation. Makes judgments about priorities and the team's approach to work based on an understanding of how the team contributes to the achievement of broader objectives.

  • Adapts plans to meet service and/or operational challenges. Identifies and resolves technical, operational, risk management, and organizational challenges. Has full management responsibilities for teammates: hiring, disciplinary, coaching, terminating, performance reviews.

  • In an Agile environment, may serve as the "IT Leader."

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and ten years of experience managing complex IT projects or equivalent education and related training or experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in project management/delivery teams.

  • Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and implement best practices to improve products, processes, or services.

  • Deep experience in driving software strategy, execution and delivery for enterprises.

  • Expert problem-solving skills and being able to define detailed strategies as required.

  • Passion for software quality and operational excellence.

  • Experience in building a high-performing teams including identifying and recruiting talent, managing performance, and making decisions about resource allocation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent degree

  • Banking or financial services experience

  • Experience with data engineering, data analytics and data platforms

This position requires 3-4 days a week in our Raleigh, NC office.
