Job Summary:

As Business Development Associate, you will play a key role within the Mining and Metals Business Development team as a key support function in the development of strategy research, tracking of activities and internal governance support. The role is also available to work with our global regional teams in BD and Proposals to support pursuits. You will build and maintain personal relationships with the global Mining and Metals team to support Bechtel's business and commercial endeavours.

Major Responsibilities:

• Prepares and monitors various market profiles, customer profiles and business development activity reports as required 

• Performs research on customers and competition and presents findings to business development colleagues and business line general management 

• Maintains records of prospective projects and competitor information 

• Supports engagement with new prospects and customers 

• Develops marketing information for use by the business development team 

• Participates in the management of the proposal development effort including producing and assembling content 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 3-5 years of relevant experience or 5-10 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of BD processes and experience in supporting administrative efforts associated with governance procedures.

• Experience in market and customer research activities.

• Disciplined approach to managing systems (CRM tools) and tracking activities.

• Strong interpersonal skills to build internal networks.

• Experience in managing purchasing and requisition tools.

• Experience working within the contractor or engineering service provider industries, and/or the resources industries.
