Employment Opportunity

This is a non-benefited seasonal position responsible for a variety of manual duties related to water utility.  Connects, disconnects, and transfers water service and field service account investigations. Installs and replaces water meters using the various kinds of tools related to water meter installation and maintenance.  Work may require an exposure to stressful circumstances, including the meeting of deadlines, other stressful work conditions and contact with the public in negative situations.  Will assist with water meter reading responsibilities and perform other tasks pertaining to water meter maintenance as needed.  Other duties may include: yard/building maintenance such as mowing, trimming, sprinkler repair, pulling weeds, raking leaves, painting, sweeping, cleaning, driving equipment and vehicles and other duties as assigned.  Uses a variety of tools and equipment depending on the specific assignment.

Qualifications

Must possess a valid driver license and have a good driving record.  Must be able to perform heavy manual labor outside during spring, summer and fall months.   Due to equipment and city vehicle operation, applicants must be at least 18 years of age.  The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background investigation.
