Citigroup Vice President, Business Unit Manager - Securities Services in New York, New York
The Business Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a professional team or department. The team drives the overall administrative activities of the business. These tasks may include managing external audits, business continuity activities or addressing regulatory issues. The Business Manager coordinates and manages activities such as the tracking of business financials, employee headcount and other administrative needs as necessary. Manages ad hoc projects as needed.
Responsibilities:
Managed NAM Business/Financial Metrics: i.e. client domiciled and factory views financials, NAM Legal Entity P&L, Drivers, HC, T&E & Direct Expense management Engagement with Products Plan/Outlooks to ensure sensitivity to Legal Entity Maintain strong focus on expense management
Create governance structure for the Sales and Client Services organization :: Drive transparency, accuracy and timeliness in sales reporting – actuals, pipeline and targets Responsible for integrity of reporting through governance forums with deal primaries Identify, escalate and resolve data issues, allowing the cluster to properly see client information
Support NAM Sales and Client Services teams with maintaining an updated information in Client Insight and disciplined follow up on data related matters
Drive administrative, operational, reporting and quality improvements through partnership with internal teams
Responsible for all cross product technology, regulatory and administrative duties in conjunction with the team, including financial, staffing, quality, risk and regulatory matters
Execute vendor management activities, including ensuring legal requirements are met and coordinating contract negotiation and processing
Provide oversight of the Business Critical Milestone Reporting process and other reporting processes to ensure quality, efficiency and accuracy
Ensure headcount is accurate, real estate is inventoried and planned, and onboarding and termination of resources are managed
Work with Technology leadership to support the Business People strategy as well as the Communication strategy for the department
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Advance organization/people strategy goals including talent strategy and employee engagement initiatives
Participate in People Engagement Working Group and promote Voice of the Employee (VOE) communications
Prepare materials, record minutes, and follow-up as needed on items for business committees and/ or regular business meetings
Seek out sources, track, consolidate and analyze ad-hoc and regular business requests
Drive implementation of business-driven projects across functions, working closely with relevant senior leadership
Provide input into and recommend technology change, process improvements and control framework enhancements
Seek out and ensure corrective actions are implemented for control related issues and remedial action is taken
Communicate business knowledge, product knowledge, and requirements to business and internal support functions
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
6-10 years of experience in financial markets business or business support
Experience with foreign exchange and/or interest rate products preferred
Demonstrated expertise of Microsoft Office product suite; basic macro coding experience and proficiency in Microsoft Access and PowerPoint preferred
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of the financial services industry and technology, including Profit & Loss (P&L), accruals, client allocations, capitalization, recovery and fixed price contracts
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Change management experience, ability to enhance / automate control processes
Attention to detail and accuracy
Highly organized and efficient at prioritizing tasks
Fast-thinking; able to quickly identify the root of an issue
Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually with minimal supervision
Excellent Microsoft Office skills and be an advanced user of MS PowerPoint, Excel and Project
Ability to lead, energize, communicate and work efficiently across a global organization
Demonstrated strong business maturity and leadership ability in past roles
Operate in an environment that is dynamic, fast-paced, requires creative solutions, quick thinking, multi-tasking, high energy and timely turnaround
The ability to bring together people / processes from different businesses, regions and support functions
Global mindset, with regional/product understanding
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred
