You will be responsible for corporate tax compliance (direct, indirect etc), tax accounting, transfer pricing and US tax legal reporting for all Johnson & Johnson legal entities in PHILIPPINES and support the Johnson & Johnson affiliates in the Philippines, including the financial shared services center.

This role is expected to proactively and strategically drive and implement the Philippines’ tax compliance, strategy, and innovation in coordination with regional and corporate tax team as well as other key partners and external consultants. This role is also expected to be able to support and work with broad range of colleagues to provide collaborative and professional partnership with an end goal of supporting and improving the efficient tax compliance processes of JNJ Philippine entities.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations (direct, indirect, transfer pricing, and city local taxes), US Tax Reporting, JNJ World-Wide Procedures, SOX Requirements and other regulatory policies (e.g., US GAAP and Local GAAP).

  • Develop effective monitoring to drive key results related to the timely and accurate preparation, submission, and payments of various tax returns, tax audit requirements and other documentation and reports for submission to the local authorities, regional tax team, and global tax team in the US.

  • Provide in-house tax advisory to support local business operations of JNJ. Provide tax guidance to business partners on all tax matters and issues that may arise.

  • Continuously research existing and new tax regulations to ensure that the current business processes as well as local tax compliance processes are up-to-date. Close monitoring of Tax Reform Packages and ensure new laws are accurately and timely implemented.

  • Involvement in the execution of various tax & business projects by pro-actively partnering with various collaborators within the organization including various business partners (Finance Director, Global Services – Finance, Business Finance, Supply Chain, Business Leaders, etc) and external consultants. Facilitate the effective, efficient, and comprehensive resolution of various processes to ensure tax compliance.

  • Lead and implement overall strategy for handling tax audits in coordination with various departments, global, regional team and external consultants. Maintain the relationship with regional and global tax teams, internal and external auditors, external consultants, local authorities and other government agencies.

  • Effectively partner and assist the Business and Global Services in all tax matters and ensure business partnering with other collaborators in the company.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree

  • Professional certification is required (e.g. CPA, CIA)

  • At least 3 years of tax experience in a multi-national organization or combined experience with multi-national organization and audit firms

  • Strong working knowledge and awareness of Philippine Tax Laws and Regulations (e.g., CIT, VAT, Withholding Taxes, Local Business Taxes, Documentary Stamp Tax, Transfer Pricing, Philippine Tax Treaties);

  • Experience and working knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS);

  • Able to lead tax projects with multiple customers and resolve conflicts to achieve efficient results

  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities with attention to details;

  • Ability to articulate and communicate effectively to key partners locally and regionally;

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills;

  • Able to innovate and recommend innovative approaches, processes to achieve effectiveness and efficiencies;

  • Independent and collaborative and teamwork skills with some project management skills;

  • Resourceful and with passion for research on topics affecting processes and tax compliance;

  • Able to deliver results under pressure and with multiple deadlines;

  • Strong knowledge and working experience in various MS Office such as MS Excel, MS Powerpoint,etc.

  • Ability to travel about 10% of the time
