Shee Atika Government Services SGS HR Generalist in Montgomery, Alabama

Job Type Full-time Description

Shee Atika Government Services (SGS) is seeking to add a Human Resource Generalist/Administrator remotely to our team. The successful candidate will assist the current SGS HR Manager with both generalist and administrative support for SGS and all SGS subsidiary companies. We are excited about our growth and the future of our enterprise. This latest expansion will result in a need to grow our support teams with new talent capable of working in a fast-paced remote work environment. This will be critical in helping us towards achieving our goals and providing excellent HR support and services.

HR Generalist Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing new hire paperwork, conducting orientations, and assisting with the completion of required forms.
  • Administer the employee benefits program, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries to all employees.
  • Assist in the administration of performance management programs, including goal setting, performance appraisals, and development plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters, including interpretation of policies and procedures, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain HRIS records and generate reports as needed.
  • Stay updated on HR best practices and industry trends to make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Work with the Shee Atik and Shee Atik Government Services HR Department to develop and implement improvement initiatives based on analysis of trends and metrics.
  • Work closely with payroll team to ensure accuracy in payroll data as it relates to HR functions such as onboarding and benefits administration.

Requirements

Required skills, experience and education:

Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.

5+ years experience with the following

  • HR experience in a generalist role.
  • HR best practices and employment laws.
  • Recruitment and selection processes.
  • Detail-oriented with organizational and time management abilities.
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • MS Office applications and HRIS systems.

Desired skills, experience and education:

  • Certification in human resources, management or similar.
  • Experience with Paylocity and/or Unanet or equivalent desired
  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be approachable and helpful.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
