\ \ Pharmacy Technician\ \ Department: 3670080070 Veterinary Health Center\ Job no: 516681\ Employment type: Staff Full Time (Unclassified - Term)\ Location: Manhattan, Kansas\ Worksite: On-site requirement\ Categories: Health Profession, Veterinary Medicine, Health & Safety\ Pay Grade: 05A\ \ \ About This Role:\ The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking Pharmacy Technicians to join our dedicated team to provide exemplary patient care and customer service. While there are many responsibilities of someone in this role, the primary responsibility of our dispensary team is to work closely with students, interns, residents, and senior clinicians to dispense prescribed medications. Pharmacy Technicians in this role will also assist with maintaining inventory for the dispensary department. They are given the opportunity to continuously advance their skillset with continuing education and other learning experiences.   • High School Diploma, Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy or be able to obtain registration upon beginning employment, Certified Pharma y Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 12 months of appointment.

\ Preferred Qualifications:

  • \ A minimum of one year experience in a human or veterinary pharmacy environment.
  • \ Ability to be responsible, reliable, and to demonstrate initiative and leadership traits so that dispensing pharmaceuticals is accomplished in a professional manner.
  • \ Ability to exercise independent judgment on evaluation situations and making decisions.
  • \ Training in compounding (USP\<795\>, USP \<797\>, and USP \<800\>).

\ \ Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
