Pulaski County Special School District AVID Assistant (2024-2025 school year) in Little Rock, Arkansas

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma

  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university

  • Strong Math and English background, evidenced by HS Transcript

REPORTS TO: AVID District Director/AVID Site Coordinator

JOB GOAL: To aid and support students and the District by providing tutoring services to AVID elective students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Evaluate student binders, including calendars, class and textbook notes, etc.

  2. Assist students in any subject area where help is needed.

  3. Assist in teaching study skills and other skills needed for college preparation.

  4. Conduct tutorial sessions in all areas.

  5. Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for AVID students to follow.

  6. Communicate frequently and honestly with the AVID Site Coordinator/teacher regarding student progress and areas of concern.

  7. Must attend six (6) hours of AVID training within first 30 days of employment.

  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :

Salary: $12.00 per hour

EVALUATION :

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Pulaski County Special School District's Board policy.
