KONE, Inc Sr. Construction Project Manager - Major Projects in Indianapolis, Indiana

We are looking for a rock star Project Manager II who is willing (and preferably has experience) traveling nationwide 70-80% of the time in this role. You would take ownership to plan, direct, and coordinate activities regarding the designated project you are working on to ensure that goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed schedule, scope and within funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through others.

Note : Major Projects will be located near Indianapolis, IN.

Essential Functions:

1.) Reviews project proposal or plan to determine and establish time frame, finalize scope, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.

2.) Develops the project plans and product specifications within the framework of the company development process.

3.) Coordinates with business unit managers and functional managers for recruitment or assignment of project team personnel.

4.) Confers with project team to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority within the context of the company development process. Provides advice/resolution where needed with team and ensure project timeline and budget parameters are being met, including accurate financial forecasting of the project delivery.

5.) Coordinates product attributes and development plans with KONE units in the United States, Europe or elsewhere and potential partner/suppliers as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

1.) Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.

2.) Prepares project reports for management, client or others.

4.) Coordinates project activities with governmental agencies.

5.) Travel as needed: 70-80% of job.

Experience:

  • 7+ years experience in project management.

  • Elevator industry experience a plus.

Education:

  • BA or MS in engineering or in a related field or ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specific Skills, Knowledge & Behavior:

  • Comprehensive understanding of KONE’s processes, procedures, policies and contracts/product offerings.

  • Solid working knowledge of project management principles and practices, elevator and escalator installation practices and techniques and construction industry standard practices and process.

  • General accounting and financial management principles.

  • Laws and regulations regarding safety and environmental governmental regulations.

  • Demonstrated ability at leading and project management.

  • Ability to conduct financial analysis for the purpose of making sound business decisions and financial forecasting.

  • Ability to motivate people to attain their maximum potential and develop and foster teamwork.

  • Effective oral, written and presentation skills.

  • Strong persuasive skills.

  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Interpret a variety of instructions and procedures in mathematical, diagrammatic, written, oral, and schedule form.

  • Able to manage multiple concurrent tasks through effective organization and time management.

  • Posses sufficient soft skills for effective customer and key stakeholder management.

  • Ability to utilize e-mail, spreadsheets, SAP, and Project Scheduling Programs.
