Lilly Associate Director - Global Quality Laboratory Project Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana

This role is responsible for managing the development and implementation of an integrated analytical technical plan for manufactured molecules. The position will influence the organization around analytical project management as a liaison between analytical and governance teams. A person in this position would have a have the primary goal of facilitating analytical projects, be expected to apply Project Management principles, and provide decision-making leadership for a cross functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Project manage technical transfers to internal or external manufacturing/ laboratories.

  • Develop, manage and facilitate technical agendas for analytical governance teams.

  • Manage and track laboratory governance projects.

  • Support the analytical teams in developing strategies and implementing operational plans to deliver analytical commitments.

  • Resolve issues with the cross-functional project teams and appropriately manage through analytical governance.

  • Encourage appropriate risk taking within the team by leading risk assessments and contingency planning at the team level.

  • Ensure strategic alignment with Business Unit and Manufacturing partners.

  • Effectively manage upward and cross-functional communications.

  • Understand the commercial needs/drivers for the technical projects and ensure that they are consistent with the overall technical agenda.

  • Build and maintain effective teams: motivate, recognize, coach & mentor team members and associates.

  • Gain and share learning and optimized practices within and across teams.

  • Document key team information and decisions and ensure project management systems are up to date (MS Project, SAP, etc.).

  • Identify and monitor critical path.

  • Actively track leading indicators of teams’ progress to major milestones.

Basic Requirements:

  • BSc or MSc in chemistry, biology, engineering or equivalent scientific degree.

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in development, manufacturing and/or quality project management

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience in analytical development and/or QC within pharmaceutical manufacturing highly desirable.

  • Masters in Project Management, PMP Certification, or MBA would be beneficial.

  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrated project management experience

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-management and organizational skills.

  • Some travel (domestic and international) may be required.
