UL, LLC Brand Protection Specialist in Guangzhou, China

The Brand Protection Specialist (BPS) will provide basic to intermediate level technical services to support various program operations. The primary function of the BPS is to receive and respond to product verification requests, undertake research within UL Solutions databases and work with internal UL Solutions stakeholders as required to determine the authenticity of UL Solutions marks. The BPS will also be responsible, under supervision, for managing external IP-related service providers, case investigations, providing mark verification reports, affidavits and other relatedstatements to investigators, law enforcement officialsand both internaland external legal counsel. The BPS will also prepare presentations and deliver mark identification training to various audiences.

  • Requires broad knowledge and experience in brand protection

  • Conduct research through internal databases to authenticate UL Solutions marks

  • Provide support to keep the UL Solutions Mark Authentication Guide updated

  • Prepare training materials and provide presentations to internal and external audiences

  • Manage and monitor external IP-related service providers

  • Obtains and manages evidence to support administrative, civil, and criminal actions

  • Provide reports, statements, and affidavits to support various legal proceedings

  • Understand key business brand protection drivers to accomplish tasks

  • Explains complex brand protection information in a concise manner

  • Analyze Customs information and provide intelligence leads to support investigations

  • Provide technical expertise to support enforcement operations

  • Provides basic to advanced level administrative, projects & investigative support for all program areas

  • Read and follow the UL Solutions Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices

  • Performs other duties as directed

  • A minimumof five years of directly related experience

  • Post-secondary education required at the College level

  • Demonstrated abilityto manage external IP-related service providers with satisfactory outcomes

  • Strong investigative and analysis skills with a proven ability to manage case investigations

  • Good working knowledge of intellectual property laws in the region

  • Good working knowledge of law enforcement and Customs procedures

  • Strong organization, research, analytical, and communication skills

  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills (other languages an asset)

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.

  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a deadline-oriented environment

  • The technical ability to analyze products for potential hazards would be a definite asset
