Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire Cleared Optical Network Engineers to support a defense contract in Fort Meade, MD. This candidate would be joining a team responsible for the network and media project support in the lab spaces of the defense customer. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Evaluate the existing optical transport network (OTN) and provide recommendations, plans, and designs to enhance network systems.

Assess and execute test cases, test plans, test reports and implementation plans.

Collaborate with other technical personnel and stakeholders to analyze solutions, provide updates, and create documentation.

Perform interoperability testing between different vendors' OTN equipment.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of technical experience in Optical Network Engineering

Knowledgeable in optical transport networks and synchronous optical network (SONET) to perform testing and configuration

Ability to assess dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) to manage bandwidth on fiber optic infrastructure

Clearance: Interim Secret (Minimum) and can cage up to Top Secret

Certifications: IAT Level 2 (CompTIA SEC+ preferred) null
