Description of Job

What you'll be doing:

• Position develops overall strategy to meet department mission and goals for internal audit and financial compliance review.

• Position manages the staff members to apply federal and state regulations, and financial review guidelines to conduct the audits and financial review for managed care entities and skilled nursing facilities.

• Position sets the protocol and process for audits and financial compliance reviews, supervise the audit and review process, reviews the analysis result, communicates with the Finance Office and Department leadership on financial health updates.

• Position communicates with Department auditing vendors, audited entities, and other Department teams

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Only:

Eight (8) years of relevant experience in Financial report review, financial regulation research, financial compliance review, or financial audit

OR

Education and Experience:

A combination of education in finance, accounting, audit, economics or relevant education and relevant experience in Financial report review, financial regulation research, financial compliance review, or financial audit equal to eight (8) years

Current, valid licensure as a CPA from the Colorado Board of Accountancy or current, valid CIA certificate will substitute for five (5) years of the requirement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 years of prior state experience related to the financial review duties of this position

• Prior financial audit and/or review experiences

• Prior financial report and Medical Loss Ratio experience

• Prior Medicaid financial experience

• Prior experience to research and interpret Federal and state financial regulatory

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
