Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Associate Director of IT Platform Services for one of its Higher Education clients in the Chicagoland area. The Associate Director of Platform Services Infrastructure reports to the Director of Platform Services and is responsible for architecting, managing, and supporting the university's enterprise infrastructure technology and research computing infrastructure. The Associate Director supervises managers and other direct reports responsible for driving enterprise and research infrastructure technologies. The Associate Director has a range of responsibilities that include strategy, resource management, vendor management, operations, portfolio management, technology roadmaps, and production support. The Associate Director also oversees departmental collaboration with helpdesk and infrastructure teams as well as distributed IT unit.

Skills and Requirements

Minimum fifteen years of experience in IT with a track record of high performance and increasing responsibility.

 10+ years of leadership experience with direct responsibility for a reasonably sized team supporting information technology.

 5+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure strategy and operations that includes architecture, real-time integration, and cloud computing.

 Experience with both Linux and Windows Servers Heavy On-Prem Server usage

 Automation knowledge utilizing Ansible

 Extensive experience within VMware for virtualization

 Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent education, training, and experience from which comparable skills, abilities, and knowledge was acquired. Experience within a High Performance Computing Environment

 Past experience in a university or a highly decentralized corporate environment

 Demonstrated experience in working with new technologies and methodologies null
