The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and control of all technical work, preventative maintenance and equipment reliability for the facility. This position will engineer and manage industrial projects as well as manage and develop the maintenance team. The Maintenance Supervisor is cognizant and understanding of food and employee safety and ensures application in their daily functions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

  • Supervise, organize and control the maintenance and technical workflow as well as support, guide and challenge production priorities and improve efficiencies including continuous improvements and analysis.

  • Coordinate work schedules to correspond with production priorities and to improve the throughput of the equipment while maintaining good quality of the products.

  • Research, propose and implement projects to decrease energy costs and improve overall factory efficiencies.

  • Schedules repairs, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.

  • Responsible for budget for technical department including projects.

  • Update and manage site preventative maintenance program as needed.

  • Manage budget for maintenance/projects.

  • Coordinate and schedule outside contractors for the facility.

  • Monitors programs for contractor safety (including WSIB Clearance Certificates)

  • Train Maintenance employees as needed for PM’s and all maintenance functions, etc.

  • Participate in projects and/or rebuilds.

  • Meets/exceeds requirements for food and employee safety.

    EDUCATION, LANGUAGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a food industrial and/or manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.

  • Millwright certified.

  • Knowledge of budgets and financial statements.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft computer programs

  • Leadership, organizational skills, creativity, teamwork

  • CMMS experience an asset

  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.

  • Special Knowledge Expertise – mastery of a body of job related technical knowledge

    Travel requirements:

  • Occasional 10% based on assigned project locations.

    Others: Environmental / Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to freely move around entire facility.

  • Ability to work in and be exposed to heat.
