The University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM), Institute for Health Computing (IHC)is currently recruiting for aAnalyst, Clinical Research (Epidemiologist). The Epidemiologist specializes in epidemiological research, data analysis, and report writing to support major initiatives aimed at enhancing human well-being, justice, and public service. This role involves analyzing complex research projects with a focus on healthcare, ensuring compliance with study protocols and regulatory standards. Candidates should have a strong background in data analysis, advanced education in epidemiology or a related field, and experience working in the healthcare sector. Primary Duties: * Conduct or perform independent project(s) and participate in multi-faceted data collection programs. May develop independent research initiatives. * Develop options for the design and implementation of surveys or met analyses. Collect and document comprehensive data of research findings. * Perform data analysis and report writing to summarize statistical findings, may include multi-variant analysis or other complex methodologies. * Provide technical expertise in examining data findings. Collaborate with investigators and recommends best methods for data collection and analysis. * Make recommendations for disease control and prevention based on research findings. * May contribute to the preparation and documentation of research findings for publications of journal articles and grant proposals. * Perform other duties as assigned Education:Master's degree in epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, public health, health sciences or services Experience:N/A Supervisory Experience:NA Certification/Licensure:NA Other:NA Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: * Expert knowledge of epidemiological methods, regulatory standards, and healthcare compliance. * Advanced skills in data analysis and the ability to synthesize complex health data into actionable insights. * Proficiency in writing for various formats, including grants, reports, and academic papers. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with diverse interdisciplinary teams. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency. * Strong commitment to upholding the organization's core values of respect, integrity, well-being, equity, and innovation. * Ability to apply advanced knowledge and principles of epidemiology and related disciplines. * Ability to address significant issues independently using judgment, discretion, and creativity. * Ability to develop and assess project goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with legal and policy requirements.
