Oracle Principal Technical Program Manager in Albany, New York

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is building a next generation cloud to support customers running both Oracle and custom workloads and we are looking for an experienced Program Manager to join the Oracle Cloud Governance organization within Oracle Cloud Compliance and Assurance (OCCA).

The Oracle Cloud Governance team is responsible for risk management, resilience, and crisis management for our cloud. As a Governance Program Manager, you will be responsible for the newly implemented AI/ML Governance program, which includes conducting impact assessments for newly designed AI/ML services and assessing our organization's enterprise AI/ML risks. Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting the resilience program in operationalizing current workflows and expanding scope to other areas of the cloud. This role is integral to reducing risk within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and to achieving and maintaining our regulatory compliance.

Governance Program Managers are in a unique position to partner with teams across Oracle Cloud and greater Oracle to ensure risk is being managed within the organization's appetite. Projects in our organization are complex and have high visibility with senior leadership; successful candidates will have a combination of deep technical / Governance subject matter expertise and a knack for cultivating relationships to propel program success.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk management program tailored specifically for internal AI/ML services.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and assess potential risks associated with AI/ML initiatives within the organization.

  • Design and execute strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and recommendations to stakeholders on risk mitigation strategies and decision-making processes related to AI/ML services.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to establish Resilience & Crisis Management (RCM) policies, processes, and standards.

  • Drive improved consistency and maturity of the RCM program across the globe focusing on a risk-based approach.

  • Ensure the Resilience & Crisis Management program meets all regulatory compliance requirements, including gathering evidence and interfacing directly with external auditors.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience working in a role with direct responsibilities for AI/ML Risk Management, Governance, or service design; and/or Enterprise level business continuity, business resilience, disaster recovery, emergency management, crisis management, and/or risk management programs

  • 3 + years of experience conducting internal security risk assessments to identify risk with IT systems and projects

  • 3+ years of experience managing and implementing global business continuity and disaster recovery programs, training teams in large enterprises, and measuring the effectiveness of programs through exercises and managing real events.

  • Ability to own and manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously while dealing with ambiguity.

  • Effective at owning a balance of operational and strategic initiatives as part of your portfolio.

  • Experience working with large, remote, matrixed, cross-functional organizations, which may include operations, development, product management, and release engineering teams.

  • Experience working in technical settings such as cyber security, systems architecture, cloud computing and/or information systems regulatory compliance.

  • Adept at influencing without authority and negotiating alignment across diverse stakeholder set.

  • Demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically; you seek out opportunities to evolve programs and operationalize multi-faceted end-to-end processes ranging in size and complexity.

  • You are a self-starter and comfortable operating at a fast pace with minimal direction.

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and can accurately articulate project status and risks across teams and up to an executive-level audience.

  • You possess strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills leveraging data.

  • You demonstrate maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence, analytical and leadership skills.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $87,800 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
