Foundation Specialist - St. Peter's Hospital - Full Time Days

Position Summary:

In this role, the position will report to the Executive Director of St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation, while assisting the Vice President of Philanthropy and Executive Director in a fast moving, professional office. The Foundation Specialist will serve as a hybrid role assisting with acute care driven fundraising efforts and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the philanthropy office.

Organization and coordination of multiple aspects of donor events, including planning, organization, logistics, communication and implementation of Acute Care donor events. Responsibilities include managing aspects such as registration, secure and prepare auction and raffle items for events, assist in overseeing and supporting of fundraising committees and volunteers. Keeping accurate records of all donations, acknowledgements, committee meeting minutes and preparing revenue reports. Coordinating fundraising meetings including scheduling, set up and follow up. Oversee event related communications including major mailings, electronic and web updates. Lead on designated event logistics including site coordination at donor fundraising events, anticipation and procurement of needed fund-raising supplies, obtain, organize and set up all auctions and raffles and manage fund raising volunteers.

Administrative duties to support the day to day operations of the philanthropy office include, managing incoming phone calls, assisting with donor communications, crafting, proofreading and assisting with correspondence such as acknowledgements, invitations, email, and newsletters. Board meeting planning including preparing board materials, correspondence with members, execution of meeting minutes and meeting logistics. The position will also be responsible for representing to the community the values and mission of St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation and Samaritan and The Eddy Foundation.

Education Requirements:

  • : Associate Degree and four years of experience or a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Requirements:

  • This position requires strong interpersonal skills, high energy, the ability to organize and prioritize a multitude of fund-raising and office management tasks simultaneously.

  • Candidate must be a mature, goal-oriented individual, who collaborates well with team members and is able to create solutions. A driven individual who can adapt to with the Experience in Fundraising, Communications, Public Relations or Marketing in a non-profit organization preferred.

  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to work in M365 including Outlook, Word, Excel and Publisher.

  • Driver’s license and vehicle required.

Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Fundraising Coordination:

The Foundation Specialist oversees the planning, organization, logistics, communication and implementation of Acute Care donor events to meet the goals and objectives.

Understands the mission of St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation and Samaritan and The Eddy Foundation and the master plan of fundraising goals and activities in working towards establishing new projects and maintaining current ones.

Above and beyond job responsibilities, the Foundation Specialist will attend all fundraising events providing active support and promoting the mission and values of the SPHP Center for Philanthropy.

Communicates well with staff, volunteers, committee members, donors and all constituents in the community served.

Attends community/committee meetings to represent the Foundation. Coordinates and participates in acknowledgements/appreciation of donors and supporters

2 . Donation Management:

Solicitation of donations and gifts for the SPH Foundation and Samaritan and The Eddy Foundation

Responsible for the tracking and recording of all donations in accordance with the Foundation’s organizational policy. Accountable for retrieval of donations and the proper handling of said gifts.

3 . Administrative Assistance/Office Management

This hybrid role will overseeing the day-to-day operations of the philanthropy office including managing incoming phone calls, communicating with members of the Foundation Board of Directors, board meeting planning, execution of meeting minutes and meeting logistics, assist with managing schedules,

  1. Fundraising Activity Implementation:

Site coordination at donor fundraising events.

Anticipation and procurement of needed fund-raising supplies.

Obtain, organize and set up all auctions and raffles

Manages fund raising volunteers

Coordinate’s acknowledgements and thank you letters to donors, volunteers and committee members, in conjunction with the SPH and NEH Foundation.

Pay Range:$21.20 - $28.26

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

All new employees are required to undergo and pass all applicable state and federally mandated pre-employment screening requirements.
